A boulder is really nothing of note on the island. But this one is a curious anomaly, purposely placed right in the center of the river. It's large enough to disrupt the current, causing a dull roar where the water splits in two to flow around it.

There's something else strange about the boulder: it's been carved into the shape of a staircase. Stairs that lead from the water's surface into the sky.
